Felipe
graduated from the University of Lima where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in Mass Media Communications. During that time, he performed internationally as a one of the main dancers of two renowned folkloric groups: "Grupo Jueves" and "Peru Expresion".While still in Peru, Felipe taught in the most prestigious gyms in Lima, was a personal trainer at clients' homes, was chosen "Best Instructor" at the national level for two consecutive years, won a regional aerobics championship, was judge in numerous national aerobic competitions, had a weekly television program about fitness, owned a fitness facility, and owned an aerobic instructor teaching school. He has written and appeared in many magazines in Perú and the US. He and his family's picture were the cover of one of the "Sarasota Business Magazine".
In the US, Felipe was awarded "Employee of the Year" and "Manager of the Quarter" in different jobs, and his Danzarobics class was named "Best of the Best Latin Dance Class" by Sarasota Magazine. His knowledge is constantly expanding; Felipe currently holds ISAT (International School of Aerobic Training), Cycle Reebok, Core Reebok, yoga, and dance certifications and in 2006 took a 32-hour intense course in Active Isolated Stretching.
After working in the top sports clubs in the Washington DC metropolitan area, Felipe and his wife, Natalia, moved to Sarasota, Florida, where they reside with their two children. When not in his studio, you can catch them helping at their Church or at Siesta Key making sand castles.
Natalia
has a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Davis in Biological Sciences and a Master’s degree also from the University of California, Davis in Nutrition, with an emphasis on Maternal and infant nutrition.Natalia has worked for the Peruvian Ministry of Agriculture with indigenous communities in Peru’s Amazon rainforest; for the Food and Nutrition Program of the Pan American Health Organization (PAHO) in Washington DC; and, for the Women Infants and Children (WIC) Nutrition Program of the Sarasota County Health Department in Sarasota.
During her time at PAHO, she published a book about the benefits of breastfeeding and became very involved in this area, and during her time at WIC she became certified as a Lactation Consultant.
Natalia is also certified to teach group exercise classes and specializes in indoor cycling and pre/postnatal exercises. On her free time, Natalia also works doing English/Spanish translations.
